WHAT IS THE BKR5000?
The BKR 5000 single-band VHF (136-174 MHz) portable two way radio was released in 2021. This radio has been the leading choice for EMS, Fire, Police, Military, and Municipal agency. The handheld radio offers exceptional performance and rugged durability in a lightweight form. With GPS and Bluetooth standard on all models after October of 2023, this 5000 channel radio is widely used by the USFS and Cal Fire. If you want to clone from a legacy radio to a BKR 5000 radio then you can purchase the KAA0701 universal cloning cable and a BKR0701 universal cloning cable adapter. You can also use the keypad to program this 6 Watt radio. This P25 Conventional radio meets the MIL 810 G and IP68 water rating specifications meaning that this radio can go up to 2 Meters deep for at most 4 Hours.
If you own a previously discontinued Bendix King radio such as a KNG, DPH, or GPH portable radio then this is the suggested replacement.
